Atlanta (EUA) - A número 11 do mundo Coco Gauff participou de uma exibição no Atlanta Open, um evento ATP 250 realizado no Atlantic Station. A jovem de 18 anos enfrentou a compatriota Taylor Townsend, moradora de Atlanta na noite deste domingo. Gauff venceu por duplo 6/3 e enfrentará a campeã do Aberto da Austrália de 2020, Sofia Kenin, em outra exibição na noite desta segunda-feira.
"Acho que foi um grande desempenho", disse Gauff, vice-campeã em Roland Garros neste ano. "Me diverti muito, não tinha certeza de como seria esta noite. Taylor tornou super divertido."
A inspiração foi o tema da noite, quando Gauff estreou um novo par de tênis que trazia uma frase que ela gosta muito: "Você pode mudar o mundo com sua raquete".
